The first teaser trailer for “The First Purge” was released Wednesday morning.
The teaser takes the audience through the backstory of how the purge was implemented years prior to the original film.
It has a propaganda feel to it, and once again, shows the audience the purge hat that resembles Trump’s “Make America Great Again” hat.
So, I know I speculated yesterday that this film might get a bit too political. There’s a legit worry for me that it’s going to follow the path of the third film, and stray from the success of the first two.
This teaser has done nothing to calm those fears. It really seems to play up the idea of well-off Americans being the bad guys. Although, it’s just a teaser. Perhaps I’m reading into it a bit much. I have no idea until we get the full thing, but I’m worried this great series is going to get ruined.
We can all find out when it’s released July 4.
