Get ready for the Super Bowl today with this throwback video of President Ronald Reagan tossing the coin from The White House on television for Super Bowl XIX in 1985.

WATCH:

“Joining us for the toss of the coin–the President of the United States, Mr. Ronald Reagan,” the referee said.

Reagan, appearing on TV via satellite from The White House, said that it was “a distinct pleasure and a privilege for me to be participant, although I wish I could be a participant closer at hand.” (RELATED: Prepare For The Super Bowl With These Great Football Speeches)

In the game between the Miami Dolphins and the San Francisco 49ers, the 49ers won 38-16.

Sunday’s coin flip will be done by Hershel “Woody” Williams, the only living WWII Medal of Honor recipient. He fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
