Hooters customers can get free wings if they “shred” a photo of an ex on Valentine’s Day.
The famous chicken wing restaurant posted a quiz on their website that allows people to explain the breakup, and upon completion, they’re rewarded with a coupon for free wings.
Hooters wrote in part on its intro page:
Mend your broken heart. Get rid of that photographic reminder of you-know-who by answering a few quick questions. Your responses will provide the most satisfying method of disposal, so the healing can begin.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this idea. Not all relationships end poorly. I’m a big believer that most of them actually end on very civil terms. However, there’s not a woman in the world whose photo I wouldn’t “shred” for some free wings.
There’s simply no hesitation in my decision. If the choice is between some college girlfriend or free buffalo wings, I’m taking the wings every single day of the week. Besides, it’s not like any woman you pick is ever going to know. What they don’t know can’t hurt them, and those wings taste delicious.
You also just have to love the pettiness that Hooters is embracing. It’s hilarious. The idea that you can trade a shredded photo of your ex for free food is so childish, but so worth it. Sounds like it might be time for me to open up the metaphorical photo album and get myself ten hot buffalo wings. It’s what the women would have wanted me to do anyways.
