A new poll indicates that more than 1 in 3 Americans think that the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment has gone too far.

A poll from Rasmussen published Monday found that “35% of American Adults think the #MeToo movement has gone too far, while 18% think it hasn’t gone far enough. Thirty-four percent (34%) say the level of protest is about right. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.”

The #MeToo movement consists of women sharing stories of sexual harassment and abuse. Since last fall, many men in politics and media have been accused of sexual misconduct. (RELATED: Harvard Law Professor Says #MeToo Is A Danger To Consensual Relationships)

Harvey Weinstein was accused by many women of various offenses, while media men like Matt Lauer and Charlie Rose also faced harassment allegations.

However, there has been a backlash against some #MeToo claims. After Babe.net published a woman’s account of alleged sexual misconduct committed by actor Aziz Ansari, many responded by defending Ansari. (RELATED: Arianna Huffington Warns #MeToo Movement May Stop Men From Mentoring Women)
