President Donald Trump reacted to initial reports of a school shooting in Parkland, Florida in a Wednesday tweet.
My prayers and condolences to the families of the victims of the terrible Florida shooting. No child, teacher or anyone else should ever feel unsafe in an American school.

The White House also released an initial statement indicating that “the President has been made aware of the school shooting in Florida. We are monitoring the situation. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected.”

Details about the shooting are scant, though multiple victims are said to have been wounded by a lone gunman. Reports indicate the shots began after the gunman pulled the fire alarm drawing the children into the hallway.
