Bill Cosby’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt confirmed Monday that the comedian’s daughter, Ensa Cosby, died on Friday in Massachusetts from renal disease, CNN reported.

She was only 44 years old.

“The Cosby Family thanks many people for their prayers for their beloved and beautiful Ensa,” a statement from the entire Cosby family read.

The Cosby family has requested prayers and time to deal with the loss.

“Please keep the Cosby family in your prayers and give them peace at this time,” Wyatt shared.

TMZ reported earlier in the day, Cosby’s daughter had “significant” kidney issues and was possibly in line for a transplant to deal with the condition.

Ensa Cosby was very outspoken last year after her father was accused of sexual assault, citing racism as part of the scandal.

“I believe that racism has played a big role in all aspects of this scandal,” Ensa Cosby wrote. “My father has been publicly lynched in the media. My family, my young daughter, my young niece and nephew have had to stand helplessly by and watch the double standards of pretending to protect the rights of some, but ignoring the rights of others and exposing innocent children to such appalling accusations about someone they love dearly and who has been so loving and kind to them is beyond cruel.”
She is one of five children born to Cosby and his wife Camille. The comedian’s only son, Ennis Cobsy, was murdered in 1997 during a failed robbery attempt in Los Angeles.
