Stormy Daniels has started up an online fundraising effort to help foot her legal bills so she can speak freely about her alleged 2006 affair with President Trump.
The campaign, which can be found on Crowd Justice, is titled “Clifford (aka Daniels) v. Trump et al.” and details her legal battles with the sitting president.
“My name is Stephanie Clifford (aka Stormy Daniels),” she writes. “I am attempting to speak honestly and openly to the American people about my relationship with now President Donald Trump, as well as the intimidation and tactics that he, together with his attorney Michael Cohen, have used to silence me. In order to tell my story, I have had to file a public lawsuit in Los Angeles, California in an effort to void a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that Mr. Trump never signed and yet is trying to use to intimidate me.”
The campaign has raised almost $19,00 since it was rolled out on Wednesday. She has 30 days to hit her goal of $130,000.
In addition to being paid $130,000, Stormy Daniels claims she signed a non-disclosure agreement after her alleged affair with Trump so she would keep quiet about the incident. At the time of the alleged affair, Melania Trump had given birth to the couple’s only child together.
It’s unclear whether she will still be in violation of her non-disclosure agreement if and when she pays the $130,000 back.
