Hillary Clinton’s former communications director Jennifer Palmieri appeared on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday — and the discussion went totally off the rails.

“It’s not a sincere question.”

The Daily Caller co-founder asked, “Do you think the government should ever take guns from law-abiding people? That’s not a trick question, that’s a sincere question.”

“I think that there should be an assault weapons ban,” Palmieri said. “I don’t think people need to take their guns away, but I think there should be an assault weapons ban.”

Carlson said, “But people who own the guns…”

Palmieri said, “You are setting the conversation up to purposefully put me in a box that is not…that we don’t need to have…”

Tucker responded, “I think everyone watching, liberals and conservatives, would acknowledge that’s a totally fair question. Why isn’t it not a fair question–because you don’t want to answer it? I don’t understand.” (RELATED: Tucker: Demographics In America Are Changing ‘Bewilderingly Fast’ — ‘Without Any Real Public Debate On The Subject’)

“No, because it’s not a sincere question…”

“It is very much a sincere question. It is–as a gun owner, I can promise you–I couldn’t tell you how sincere it is,” Carlson said. (RELATED: ‘Why Don’t We Get Real?’: Tucker Takes On Illegal Immigrant Lawyer [VIDEO])
