Johnny Manziel admitted over the weekend that he didn’t know if he would ever play football again.
The Texas A&M Heisman winner quoted tweeted a video of him practicing in The Spring League, and wrote, “BACK ON THE FIELD. HEALTHY. HAPPY. Thankful for @TheSpringLeague and humbled. Didn’t know if this day would ever come again #ComebackSZN.”

I think most of us figured that Manziel realized how far he had fallen, but lots of people questioned whether or not he actually loved football. There were always speculation that Johnny loved the things that football brought more than football itself. It’s not uncommon in athletes, and it’s not a good sign. It’s tough to live in the sports world if you don’t love the sport that’s dominating your life.
However, I think it’s become pretty clear that Manziel does care deeply about football, which is why he’s working so hard to get back into the league. I’d say things are greatly looking up for him. He looked outstanding at two pro days, and is ready to tear up The Spring League in a few days. The comeback is going great by every metric.
The sports world will explode if he inks a contract this off-season in the NFL, and I couldn’t be more excited to see it happen.
