The world needs to be reminded that basketball games have no business being played in massive stadiums.

March Madness is over, and it’s always around this time of year that people routinely complain about the games being held in huge domes. This year, the Final Four was hosted at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Nearly 70,000 people attended the game.

It’s disgraceful that these games are being played in massive stadiums. The 2015 Final Four was held at Lucas Oil Stadium, and it’s one of the main reasons I didn’t want to go. Basketball is meant to be an intimate sport. You should be right up near the action. It should feel close to you.

That’s pretty hard to accomplish when you’re sitting miles back in a massive dome. Basketball was never meant to be played this way. It’s solely a play for more tickets sales. There’s a very easy fix for this problem. Put the games back into regular college stadiums, and just jack up the prices. I’d rather pay triple the ticket price to get a great experience than get slightly reduced tickets to sit super far away.

I’m very confident most true basketball fans agree with me. The NCAA needs to knock this garbage off and get back to playing the sport the way it’s always meant to be.
