A trailer for James Franco’s new movie “Future World” was released Tuesday, and it looks awful.
The plot of the movie, according to the YouTube description, is, “A young boy searches a future world wasteland for a rumored cure for his dying mother.”
Seems like a pretty solid concept. Well, somehow they managed to seriously screw it up.
What is going on here in this movie? This looks like it was filmed on a budget under $1,000. You can’t go on a bender for a few days for less than $1,000. If you can’t go on a bender for that amount of cash, you really shouldn’t be filming a movie on the same level.
This is really a shame because Franco is such a good actor. “11.22.63” was one of the coolest mini-series I’ve ever seen. Everything about it was awesome. Franco really proved that he was an elite actor in that show, and I’d recommend it. This movie makes me think that Franco might be losing his edge.
We’ll find out when “Future World” is released May 25.
