The football world has embraced Johnny Manziel’s comeback, but former NFL player Shannon Sharpe isn’t having any of it.
“To watch this and to say, ‘his potential is off the charts.’ Man, it’s straight BS,” Sharpe opined Monday on his FS1 show “Undisputed.” It’s painful to watch.

Oh, boo hoo, Shannon Sharpe isn’t happy that NFL teams are showing a bunch of interest in Johnny Manziel’s comeback journey. Why is there so much negativity surrounding this guy?
Isn’t an incredible downfall and comeback a great American story? I’m pretty sure that’s what drives most of sports. People fall, people rise and we’re here for every second of it. I guess Sharpe never got that memo.
Look, I understand why people don’t love Manziel. He dug himself into a deep hole with actions that are entirely his own fault. However, that doesn’t mean that we have to shut down and hate his comeback.
I’m pumped this dude is on the verge of a return. He’s gotten clean and he’s still got his talent. It’s time for Sharpe and the rest of the haters to join the winning side.
