A breaking news report indicates that the FBI raid on President Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen’s home and office was done in order to find records about payment for two women who allegedly had affairs with Trump.

The New York Times reports:

“The F.B.I. agents who raided the office of President Trump’s personal lawyer on Monday were looking for records about payments to two women who claim they had affairs with Mr. Trump, and information related to the publisher of The National Enquirer’s role in silencing one of the women, several people briefed on the investigation said.”

The Times story also reports that the two women are ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal and porn star Stormy Daniels (real name Stephanie Clifford).

The raid also reportedly was looking for information on Cohen’s ownership of New York City taxi medallions, CNN reports.

After news broke of the FBI raid on Cohen Monday, President Trump said that the Mueller probe was “the most conflicted group of people I have ever seen.” (RELATED: Trump On Firing Mueller: ‘We’ll See What Happens’)

“Why don’t I just fire Mueller? Well, I think it’s a disgrace.”
