Pompeo’s trip to North Korea set the stage for potential face-to-face talks between President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. Trump has said if the meeting does not go well, he will stand up and leave the room.
“Trump’s making a pretty clear statement here…’I’m not messing around, if you’re going to disrespect me and the United States then I’m out,'” Hamill explained.
Coglianese and Hamill noted that the Senate is still working to confirm Mike Pompeo for secretary of state, despite the fact that he has managed to lay the groundwork for historic negotiations with the rogue regime.
“It’s so obvious that he’s now leading the charge on negotiating with North Korea, the last thing you want to do is stop him from being confirmed,” Coglianese asserted.
