I must say, when I first saw that a sliding door kit was on sale today, I didn’t think much of it. What’s wrong with the doors I currently have? But then I watched the video in which the barn-style door slides open and close and I was entranced. I NEED this. The makers of this kit boast that while other models provide two separate connecting 4-foot rails, which are not strong, this relies on just one 8-foot rail. The rail, plus the bolts included, can support up to 225 pounds. There is also a step-by-step video explaining in detail exactly how to install it. You can even make a door yourself out of wood and show off your handyman skills to all your guests.
The only question now is do I have to clear this with my roommates before installing one in our home?
