Republican Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst told an MSNBC analyst that she is not following the Stormy Daniels saga because she is “actually focused” on her job.

Ernst was recently interviewed by MSNBC national affairs analyst John Heilemann for his Showtime show “The Circus.”

The senator was back in Iowa when Heilemann asked her to comment on Rudy Guiliani saying the president “did in fact pay the porn star $130,000 and the president basically lied two weeks ago.”

Ernst looked confused during Heilemann’s question and responded simply, “I guess I can’t comment because I don’t know the timeline and I’m not really following Stormy Daniels.”

“Really?” Heilemann asked incredulously. “You’re the only person in America who’s not.”

“Yeah, and thank God I’m not because I’m actually focused on my job, which is in the Senate,” Ernst shot back. “So thank you!”

Turns out Ernst was right not to focus too much on Stormy, as Heilemann’s other interviews in Iowa revealed that her constituents don’t particularly care about the story.

“Don’t care,” one said.

“Honestly, it’s a personal matter of his,” another concluded.
