One person is dead and three injured after a van slammed into a crowd attending a music festival in the Netherlands, according to reports by Reuters Monday.

At approximately 4 a.m., a white van hit concert-goers, killing a 35-year-old man and injuring two other men and a woman at the PinkPop festival. The driver fled the scene, and police helicopters were used to find him and his van.

A local 34-year-old man from the city of Heerlen, neighboring Landgraaf where the festival took place, later turned himself into police and was arrested in Amsterdam. His van had a large dent in the front and a flat tire, according to reports by the Dutch News.

He is suspected of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter, police said at a news conference Monday morning.

“This investigation is still underway and we cannot say whether this was something intentional or an accident,” said police spokesman Hub Haenen to Reuters. (RELATED: London Police Confirm That Van Mowing Down Pedestrians Is A Terrorist Attack)

PinkPop, Amsterdam’s largest music festival featured performers including Bruno Mars, the Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and others. More than 10,000 people attended the Dutch concert, some camping out overnight a short distance from the festival venue and close to where the collision took place, according to reports by BBC.
