Judd Apatow and “Modern Family” creator Steve Levitan joined Seth MacFarlane in condemning Fox News for the network’s perceived loyalty to President Trump this week.
It began this weekend, when Seth MacFarlane called Fox News out for disseminating “fringe sh*t.” (RELATED: Tucker Exposes ‘Ruling Class’ Behind Border Policy Uproar: ‘Their Goal Is To Change Your Country Forever’)
In other words, don’t think critically, don’t consult multiple news sources, and in general, don’t use your brain. Just blindly obey Fox News. This is fringe shit, and it’s business like this that makes me embarrassed to work for this company. https://t.co/kC7MPYxdgZ

The tweet received over 44,000 likes and sparked similar outrage from the likes of producer and writer Judd Apatow, who used to work with Fox. He suggested the Murdoch family “promotes evil ideas and greed and corruption.”
I haven’t worked with Fox since 2002. That family promotes evil ideas and greed and corruption. We all choose who to work with. I understand why that is easier for some than others but many powerful people are powerful enough to speak up to their bosses at a moment like this. https://t.co/8NtsqsR8Xj

That’s exactly what I said. Everyone can’t stand up to their bosses but many people who work at Fox are In Powerful positions and CAN say they do not support the networks support for evil policies. https://t.co/aiOlXhLvqt

Michael Tammero at Fox News is assisting kidnappers (The President and his administration) who are holding children for ransom. Who is he to criticize anyone? He IS the problem. https://t.co/WJIT0KzA2e

People don’t want to deal with the fact that when you work for any part of Fox you are supporting a family which has made billions lying and manipulating our citizens for their personal financial gain. Now that includes supporting the kidnapping of children. That’s your boss. https://t.co/mCKnOeXQzX

If as an editorial policy @FoxNews said it was wrong to hold children hostage to get a wall Trump would adjust his approach to this issue. There is no doubt the Murdoch family has the power to change this conversation. https://t.co/arbHTSDKQF

“Modern Family” creator Steve Levitan chimed in shortly thereafter, saying he had “officially” joined Seth MacFarlane in condemning Fox. “This bullsh*t is the opposite of what #ModernFamily stands for,” he tweeted Monday evening.
Let me officially join @SethMacFarlane in saying I’m disgusted to work at a company that has anything whatsoever to do with @FoxNews. This bullshit is the opposite of what #ModernFamily stands for. https://t.co/dnvIbgoIyA

That elicited a response from Apatow, asking “who’s next,” to condemn Fox as a “propaganda arm” for Donald Trump.
Way to go Steve. Who’s next? It’s important to speak up when your boss is the propaganda arm which promotes putting children in cages and holding them hostage so Trump can build a wall. What other stars, showrunners or executives from Fox will speak up against this madness? https://t.co/mXukluuPgl

Levitan joins the ranks of heavy hitting entertainment moguls to condemn the Trump administration’s border policy, but it’s not likely he’ll be the last. As of Tuesday morning, Seth MacFarlane had donated $2.5 million to NPR in an effort to resist Fox News’ popularity and eliminate the “news desert” he claims exists in the US.
