Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera said most Americans are against open borders and want an immigration policy that will keep them secure on “Fox & Friends” Friday.
“It does seem a lot of people who say ‘get rid of ICE’ are from the areas that are so-called sanctuary cities, sanctuary states, things like that,” host Steve Doocy said. “Is it something the whole country is hungry for, or just those parts of America?” (RELATED: Geraldo Thinks FISA Memo Spells The End Of Russia Investigation)
Rivera said “sensible” Americans want to close the southern border and institute a common-sense immigration policy.
“The whole country, not even the blue parts of America — I think that most sensible Americans and I believe the polls bear this out, do not want open borders,” Rivera concluded. “You can’t have a country if you have an open border. But on the other hand, they want compassion and they want ICE to focus on the real bad guys rather than the people just looking for the American dream.”
