President Donald Trump responded to former CIA director John Brennan’s accusation of treason in an interview with Fox News host and Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson.
“I think Brennan is a very bad guy, and if you look at it, a lot of things happened under his watch. I think he’s a very bad person,” Trump said, adding, “I also think that when you watch Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, when you watch all of the things that have happened — Comey, you take a look at that — and McCabe, who has got some pretty big problems, I assume — you look at the deception, the lies … These are people that in my opinion are truly bad people, and they’re being exposed for what they are.”
Brennan reacted to Trump’s press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin saying the following in Twitter:
Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of “high crimes & misdemeanors.” It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???

Trump’s critics are largely concerned after he appeared to give some credence to Putin’s claim that he did not interfere in the 2016 presidential election despite being told the opposite by his intelligence community leaders.
“I have confidence in both parties,” Trump said, adding that he didn’t see any reason why Russia would interference on his behalf.
