President Donald Trump praised his personal attorney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani for his handling of 9/11 on the 17th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

Trump also tweeted hashtags of remembrance after signing a proclamation designating “Patriot Day 2018” to honor the victims lost on September 11, 2001.

“Today, we honor the memories of the souls we lost on September 11, 2001, and pay tribute to all of the patriots who have sacrificed their lives in defense of freedom.  We pray for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen currently serving our Nation in harm’s way,” the proclamation reads.
