President Donald Trump blasted congressional leadership for not including funding for a border wall in its latest spending bill, in a Thursday morning tweet.

“I want to know, where is the money for Border Security and the WALL in this ridiculous Spending Bill, and where will it come from after the Midterms?” Trump said. “Dems are obstructing Law Enforcement and Border Security. REPUBLICANS MUST FINALLY GET TOUGH!”

Trump has long been frustrated with congressional Republicans for lack of enthusiasm in fighting over the inclusion of border wall funding. The spending bill includes only 1.6 billion dollars of border security funding, while the president was seeking 5 billion.

The president has at times threatened to shut the government down over lack of funding for his signature campaign promise, including leaving the door open to a shut down after the November 2018 midterm elections. “I don’t like the idea of shutdowns. We’ve already started the wall. We’ve gotten $3.2 billion for the wall. We’ve done a lot of work on the wall,” Trump said in a recent exclusive interview with The Daily Caller, adding “after midterms, we’re going to have a very serious discussion because we want border security, we have to have it. It’s going to be a big part of — it is a big part of this country. We have to have border security.”
