Today, September 29, is Halsey’s birthday.
Halsey, real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, turns 24 years old today and has been a rising star since her breakout song “Closer” with the Chainsmokers.
The New Jersey-born singer skyrocketed to success after “Closer” came out in 2016. The song received over one billion downloads, and Halsey became a household name. Her other songs as a solo artist, including “Bad At Love,” “Eastside,” “Him & I,” and “Now Or Never,” have all received over two hundred million downloads on Spotify.
Halsey has been nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2017 and has won numerous iHeart Radio and Billboard music awards.
Outside of music, Halsey raises awareness for mental health and women’s rights. She’s also trying her hand at acting, and is slotted to appear in the upcoming drama “A Star Is Born” with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.
