New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez’s Republican opponent Bob Hugin claimed Democrats are so “desperate” to keep the senator in power, they’re funneling dirty money into the Democrat’s campaign.

“They’re desperate,” Hugin said on “Fox & Friends” Thursday. “They see the momentum in our campaign. The people of New Jersey know they can do better. They deserve better. They’ve been so poorly served in so many different ways.” (RELATED: Bob Hugin Calls Bob Menendez A ‘Hypocrite’ For Believing Christine Ford But Not His Own Underage Accusers)

“It’s sort of ironic with the Democrats putting like $7.5 million — just recently another $3 million from Senator [Chuck] Schumer. This is the same PAC that Menendez’s best friend, Dr. Melgen, the guy — his best friend, convicted on 67 felonies for defrauding Medicare — he donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the exact same PAC so it’s pretty ironic,” Hugin added.

Hugin, who is a Marine Corps veteran, said despite the hung jury at Menendez’s corruption trial in November, he still abused the power of his Senate office and “disgraced” the people of New Jersey.

“The Senate ethics committee bipartisanly [sic] says unequivocally Washington’s best lawyers –[he] violated federal law, abused the power of his office, disgraced the Senate,” he declared. “The people of New Jersey deserve to know the whole story and that’s what we’re telling.”

Host Brian Kilmeade asked Hugin about allegations that Menendez was involved with underage prostitution in the Dominican Republic and Hugin said the assertions are all true.

“They are no lies. They’re all facts, right. Sworn FBI affidavit. Here’s a guy, one of the most hypocritical people, stands on the floor of the Senate saying, ‘When are Americans going to listen to women?’ So hypocritical,” Hugin concluded. “Here’s an FBI sworn document, very specific allegations and corroborating evidence. The facts are clear.”
