College football fans now have a reason to be excited about The Independence Bowl.

Temple interim head coach Ed Foley gave the media a speech for the ages Tuesday in Shreveport, Louisiana. (RELATED: Report: Alabama Makes New Coaching Hire. Crimson Tide Fans Will Be Thrilled)

When we think of all-time great speeches, we think of “Playoffs?” and “I’m a man. I’m 40.” And now we have this legendary speech.

Foley is taking over for departed head coach Geoff Collins who led the Owls to an 8-4 record this season before leaving to succeed Paul Johnson at Georgia Tech.

The Owls are still searching for a permanent head coach, but if the team goes on to win their bowl game on the heels of this epic speech, one has to think that Foley, who was assistant head coach of offense prior to his new role, would have to get serious consideration.

Temple is set to take on Duke in the Independence Bowl on Dec. 27.
