A Texas judge appointed by former President Donald Trump recently granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) against President Joe Biden’s 100-day moratorium on deportations. The decision concludes that states bear a high burden when it comes to enforcement failures in federal immigration policy.

Biden’s Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) David Pekoske wrote a memo on Biden’s first day in office ordering DHS “to conduct a review of policies and practices concerning immigration enforcement” and stop deportations for 100 days — as Biden promised during the campaign.
