Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused President Joe Biden and Senate Democrats of “playing patty-cake” with Republicans while Americans suffered.

In a Wednesday tweet, Ocasio-Cortez said that major issues were going unaddressed while Biden and some Democrats in the Senate held out for negotiations and cooperation with their Republican colleagues.

“Pres. Biden & Senate Dems should take a step back and ask themselves if playing patty-cake w GOP Senators is really worth the dismantling of people’s voting rights, setting the planet on fire, allowing massive corporations and the wealthy to not pay their fair share of taxes, etc,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

The New York Congresswoman has also taken direct aim at specific Democrats like West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, who stressed the importance of bipartisan cooperation. Manchin has also voiced his opposition to the HR-1 “For the People Act” and rejected to vote to end the filibuster.

Ocasio-Cortez has also been critical of Vice President Kamala Harris over her statement urging Guatemalan immigrants not to come to the border.

And Manchin, again — this time for his attempts to find “common ground” with his Republican colleagues.
