Joy Behar said that people “on the right” do not recognize the consequences of having sex Thursday on “The View.”

“They encourage all of that,” she said. “It sells everything. Sex sells. And yet, when it comes to the reality of pregnancy, this particular group of people, on the right in this country, and these religious zealots, do not understand the reality of what happens when you have sex. It’s almost like they don’t want to see that part. They just want to see the fun in the bed, not the second part.”

Her comments stemmed from a discussion the hosts were having over the Supreme Court hearing of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health on Wednesday. The case concerns a Mississippi law that banned abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. Roe v. Wade stipulated that states could not ban abortions in the first six months of pregnancy.

Supporters of abortion are worried that if the Mississippi law is upheld, then Roe v. Wade might be in danger of being revoked. (RELATED: ‘What Specifically Is The Right Here?’: Justice Thomas Questions Where In The Constitution Abortion Is Protected)

Behar said that “sex sells everywhere,” and that “there’s soft porn everywhere now.”

Host Whoopi Goldberg also criticized Associate Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s remarks on putting infants up for adoption.

“When she talks about the ability to get these children put into foster care, basically,” Whoopi Goldberg said, “or into orphanages, or adoptions, please look up the numbers of how often and who gets adopted. It’s not a whole lot of folks at this table.”

Co-host Ana Navarro said that the cost of giving birth and putting a child up for adoption was high.
