REPORT: At Least 10 People Shot, Several In Critical Condition After Shooting On NYC Subway

Multiple people were shot in a Brooklyn subway station Tuesday morning, according to multiple sources.

At least 10 people were shot on a subway car along one of the Brooklyn lines early Tuesday morning, according to ABC7 and Reuters. Five of the victims are in critical condition. Several others were injured by shrapnel or through other circumstances of the chaos. A deployed smoke bomb filled the station with smoke and some people were coughing as they reached ground level, according to Reuters. Witnesses say the suspect put on a gas mask at some point, ABC7 reported.

Police were also looking for four potential packages deemed “suspicious,” according to multiple reports.

A manhunt is underway for a black male, who was a construction vest, Reuters continued.

Fire personnel responded to reports of smoke and attacks at the 36th Street Station in Sunset Park, New York, where they found multiple gunshot victims, a New York City Fire Department spokesperson said, according to The Associated Press. The attacks reportedly started around 8:30 a.m..

“Scariest moment of my life, man,” one witness said, according to the New York Daily News.

“I was heading into 36th Street Station in Brooklyn when a young guy who was bleeding from the legs said people were injured and bleeding,” a witness, Conrad Aderer, said, according the outlet. Other Twitter users noted that trains were halted throughout the area.
