Police arrested ex-NBA player Delonte West in Alexandria, Virginia, according to a local Fox affiliate.

Officers reportedly found the 39-year-old drunk and trespassing in a vehicle.

Police attempted to handcuff West, who tried to run away, according to Fairfax County police. West wouldn’t make it far, however, and was ultimately taken into custody.

West has been hit with four charges, including fleeing from law enforcement, vehicle trespassing and being drunk in public.

While in high school, West played for Greenbelt, Maryland’s Eleanor Roosevelt before going on to star at St. Joseph’s University. While in the NBA, the former point guard suited up for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks and Seattle SuperSonics, while also having a couple of stints in China in 2013 and 2014. In the Pacific nation, West would play for the Fujian Xunxing and Shanghai Sharks.

Following the end of his basketball career, West had multiple interactions with law enforcement, including a video of him being assaulted in Washington D.C. back in 2020. After the incident, West was placed into a rehab facility. Not long after being released from the center, he was arrested by police for a drunk-in-public charge in Florida.

West tried out for the basketball league, Big3, earlier in the year, while also being employed with a flooring company, according to TMZ. The flooring company was reportedly happy with West’s performance on the job. (RELATED: Delonte West Reportedly Spotted Begging On The Streets In Virginia In Viral Video)

This is one of those stories where you almost want to make fun of the individual that it’s centered around, but you feel way too bad for them.

Once upon a time, this guy was putting up solid numbers in the National Basketball Association and was being rumored to sleep with LeBron James’ mother. Now, he’s working a regular job while in and out of jail.

Where the hell did all of his money go, by the way? Lawyer fees?

Sad story overall, sure, but it’s kind of like: Damn, dude. What happened? It’s great to hear that he’s doing well with his job (at least before), but seriously, what happened? And now he’s getting arrested again?

From NBA royalty to this. Man, how the mighty have fallen. Sad stuff.

Hey, at least he pissed off LeBron, allegedly.
