Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that President Joe Biden should run for reelection because he has “accomplished so much.”

Pelosi joined the program to discuss the recent midterm elections, the attack on her husband and future prospects for Biden.

“Do you think President Biden should run again?” host George Stephanopoulos asked. (RELATED: Pelosi Calls Sean Maloney’s Electoral Defeat A ‘Pyrrhic victory’ For Republicans)

“Yes I do. President Biden has been a great president for our country. He has accomplished so much, over 10 million jobs under his leadership — working with the private sector, of course. He has done so many things that are so great that we’d need a lot more show to tell it, but he’s put money in people’s pockets, vaccines in their arms, children back to school, people back to work, for starters.”

She said Biden made America “independent” by passing the CHIPS Act, which promotes domestic manufacturing of semiconductors.

“We are no longer reliant on those who withhold products that enable us to manufacture in our country,” Pelosi continued.

Other Democratic leaders, however, have been reluctant to support a 2024 bid for Biden, with House Majority Whip James Clyburn refusing to say whether Biden or “anybody should run in 2024,” according to Fox News.

Biden said after the midterms that he intends to run in 2024 but would not officially commit.
