Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end and current Fox Sports Analyst Shannon Sharpe slammed New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson Monday following the team’s win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

“I’m sorry, Zach, you might have to go cougar hunting again,” Sharpe said Monday during “Undisputed.”

“But you ain’t getting that job back unless Mike White does something unforeseen, knock on wood, that doesn’t happen.”

“This is Mike White’s job for the foreseeable future,” Sharpe continued, according to Mediate. “At least until this year, Skip. He did a great job; he got guys involved. If you look at the offense and how it looked compared to what it looked like with Zach Wilson, it looked like night and day different.”

Mike White, the former Jets backup quarterback, went 22-28 for 315 and three touchdowns leading the team to victory amid poor weather conditions on Sunday, according to NFL.com.

Wilson, the second overall pick by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft, was benched by head coach Robert Saleh Nov. 23 following a poor performance in a 10-3 loss to the New England Patriots where Wilson passed for only 77 yards on 9 completions, according to ESPN.

After that game, Wilson was asked if he let the defense down, but did not take any responsibility for the poor outing, according to USA Today. (RELATED: ESPN Panelists Clash After Analyst Says Star QB Can’t ‘Accept Accountability’ Because He ‘Grew Up With A Lot Of Money’)

Following the news of his benching, Wilson did apologize to his teammates saying he “had a sick feeling” in his stomach about it, ESPN reported.
