Podcast host Joe Rogan tore into Democrats for allegedly labeling opposition to be “lazy and fat” as “far-right” during a Wednesday segment of “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Rogan criticized a CBC article for likening the term “freedom” as “far-right” in its coverage about the Freedom Convoy demonstration in Canada protesting the vaccine mandate on truckers in early 2022. Writer and standup comedian Bridget Phetasy pointed to far-left activists reportedly branding health and fitness as “far-right.”

Rogan described how liberals connect fatness and laziness to “misogyny, racism, fascism and the far-right” to appeal to a particular base.

“I’ve seen so many articles that are like ‘oh the far-right obsession with being in shape,’ like it’s a bad thing somehow,” she said.

“There’s a giant percentage of our population that is really lazy and fat, and if you want those people on your team you have to say, ‘There’s nothing wrong with being lazy and fat, in fact; not being lazy and fat is actually connected to misogyny, racism, and fascism, and the far right’ – so people are like, ‘Great, let’s just eat donuts and just f–king vote blue,’” Rogan replied.

Rogan argued the political left tends to perpetuate laziness by promoting universal basic income and governmental handouts rather than working hard.

“Well, who is pushing for universal basic income? Who is pushing for redistribution of wealth? That’s all the people on the left,” he said.

Phetasy then joked that Americans “are too fat” to fight in a civil war.

Rogan criticized “fat professors” in a December segment who allegedly said calls for steering away from unhealthy lifestyle choices is “fatphobic.” He played a viral video of a female professor saying that a person “shouldn’t deny yourself doughnuts” and saying that avoiding unhealthy foods is “not based on science.”
