The White House press briefing got off to a tumultuous start Monday after Today News Africa reporter Simon Ateba questioned why press secretary Karine Jean Pierre doesn’t call on certain reporters.

Ateba called out almost immediately to question why after seven months Jean-Pierre does not call on certain reporters “across the room.”

“No, no, we’re not doing this,” Jean-Pierre said. “We’re not doing this, we’re not doing this, we’re not doing this.”

“This not China, this not Russia, this not Russia, what you are doing you are making a mockery of your profession,” Ateba shouted. “It’s been seven months.”

Suddenly others could be heard screaming down Ateba, calling for “decorum” while another screamed “let it go.” (RELATED: ‘Maybe In 2024’: Simon Ateba Says Jean-Pierre Refuses To Meet With Him For A Year)

Members of the “Ted Lasso” cast then spoke before the gaggle followed by Jean-Pierre. Ateba took the opportunity to once again call out, prompting Jean-Pierre to scold the briefing room on proper etiquette.

“There are people in the back who don’t get any questions,” Ateba said while arguing with a reporter in the front row.

“Mind your manners when you’re in here,” a reporter at the front of the room snapped back.
