A Massachusetts man was arrested Saturday and charged with murder after authorities found the remains of two dismembered people inside bins at a storage unit.

Leonid Volkov, 37, was taken into custody by law enforcement in Massachusetts after police investigating the deaths of two men, Kiryl Schukin 37, and Pavel Vekshin, 28, executed a search warrant at his storage unit Friday, according to a press release from Medford police. The storage unit was rented using the identity of one of Volkov’s alleged victims.

Inside, law enforcement found both bodies of the men inside rubber storage bins, along with bleach, rubber gloves, and various items belonging to the victims. The body believed to belong to Schukin was dismembered when the police found it. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled both deaths as homicides, and both men are believed to have succumbed to stab wounds.

“In this particular case where the subjects are known to each other and we have the suspect in custody, we strongly believe there is no danger to the community,” police said a Facebook post regarding the case.

Both Schukin and Vekshin were reported missing by friends and coworkers on April 9. Schukin was the guarantor for an apartment rented by Volkov, but he had reportedly declined to take on the role for Volkov’s lease extension, which led to his eviction.

It’s believed that Volkov and Schukin last met up in a rented U-Haul on March 29. Police found the U-Haul at the storage facility where the bodies were discovered. He is also believed to be an individual caught on video, entering and leaving Schukin’s home in the day after both men were seen alive. Volkov was charged with murder and is expected to face additional charges in the coming days, Fox News noted.
