Republican Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst will introduce legislation Tuesday to let states request any needed material from the federal government in order to finish building the border wall.

The Daily Caller first obtained the the bill, entitled the BUILD IT Act. The legislation would specifically require the federal government to transfer any material associated with the construction of the southern border barrier to any state, upon request, for the materials’ original purpose.

States such as Arizona and Texas have initiated action to continue construction on their sections of the border wall that have been left incomplete.

“This week, due to President Biden’s failure, the southern border will go from crisis to catastrophe,” Ernst told the Caller before introducing the bill. (RELATED: ‘Brace For F*cking Impact’: Border Agents Are Being Told Very Little To Prepare For The End Of A Major Trump-Era Order )

“Instead of securing the border, the Biden administration canceled border wall projects and left materials to rack up dust and dollars. Here’s a simple solution, Mr. President: let’s put the border materials to use, end the taxpayer-funded waste, stop the unprecedented flow of illegal migrants, and finish the wall!” she added.
