A Lyft driver who fled the Taliban in Afghanistan was fatally shot in Washington, D.C., according to CNN.

Nasrat Ahmad Yar, a 31-year-old Afghan interpreter who immigrated with his family to America in 2021, lost his life in Washington, D.C. Yar was found in his vehicle with a gunshot wound. Police video shows four people running away from the scene shortly after he was shot.

How in the world does someone survive Afghanistan but then lose his life in Washington, D.C.? It’s almost as if gun control in the nation’s capitol city is an epic failure.
