Fox News contributor and civil rights attorney Leo Terrell slammed Democratic Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s recent anti-Israel comments while on Fox Monday.

During a Saturday speech at Netroots Nation, Jayapal said Israel is “racist,” sparking intense backlash. Terrell slammed her comments as “anti-Semitic.”

“That was a very, very strong anti-Semitic statement. She is head of the congressional progressive caucus within the Democratic Party. As a prerequisite, you have to be anti-Israel. I’ll tell you right now, what bothers me is I have not heard from Joe Biden criticizing her, I have not heard from Kamala Harris, I have not heard from the secretary of state. Crickets. Why? Let’s be very clear because this is too important. There is a strong anti-Israel, antisemitic wing in the Democratic Party. Everyone knows that and she walked it back a little bit only because of the donors on K street. This woman hates Israel along with Omar and Talib and all the members of the progressive wing.”

Jayapal later tried to backtrack, saying she does not “believe the idea of Israel as a nation is racist,” but that “Netanyahu’s extreme right-wing government has engaged in discriminatory and outright racist policies.”

Terrell dismissed her talkback, saying “that was a true conviction of her feelings.” (RELATED: Netanyahu Says Strikes Against Hamas Will Continue As Biden Remains Silent On Ceasefire)

Democrats circulated a draft statement Sunday expressing concerns about Jayapal’s comments, saying demonizing Israel is “dangerous” and “antisemitic’

“Not good enough,” Terrell said in response to the draft letter. “Those statements, not good enough. Where is Joe Biden on this? Where is Kamala Harris? Where is the Secretary of State? Why don’t they condemn the statement?”
