Friday’s “The View” panel got heated after one co-host said she will not vote for President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed to a New York Times/Siena poll finding former President Donald Trump would tie with Biden or even fare better in a potential general election. Apparently in shock, co-host Joy Behar confronted Griffin on her refusal to vote for the president.

“Joe Biden, let me just say something about Joe Biden. According to what I’m observing, the economy is booming, inflation is down, the stock market is doing well, people are having an easier time putting bread on the table etc. He doesn’t seem to be getting the credit for that, only 41% approval. Is it because they think he’s old, because I don’t see anything else you can point to with him particularly,” Behar said.

“Well that’s a question for Democrats,” Griffin said.

“No, it’s a question for you, really, because you said you would not vote for Biden,” Behar said, who started to point her finger at Griffin. “You said you would not vote for Biden.

Co-host Sunny Hostin jumped in as Griffin attempted to defend herself. (RELATED: ‘You Are Incapable’: Sunny Hostin Attacks Alyssa Farah Griffin Over Pence’s Presidential Run In Heated Exchange)

“Your vote counts and your vote counts and I’m gonna tell it to you again even though I know you don’t want to hear it,” Hostin began.

“Why do Dem—” Griffin said in an attempt to speak.

“Writing in a candidate that you know can’t win—” Hostin said before getting cut off.

“Why is your candidate not doing better with Democrats? That’s who he needs to win, and moderate voters,” Griffin finished.

Behar said Biden is unpopular because of his age. The president and Behar are both 80 years old.

Griffin scoffed at the idea that Biden is not doing poorly because she refuses to vote for him.

“You have to, at one point, put country before your party,” Hostin told Griffin.

The mentioned New York Times/Siena poll from July found Biden and Trump tied at 43% in a potential 2024 general election. Trump is more popular than Biden within their respective parties, with the former president earning 88% of support among potential Republican general election voters and Biden garnering 83% among Democrats.

An AP-NORC poll from April found only 27% of potential voters want to see Biden run again, while over 70% do not. In 2022, a New York Times/Siena poll found that 64% of Democratic voters did not want to see Biden run for a second term, citing his age and job performance as the top reasons.
