If your employer has ever used Amazon Web Services to fortify cloud-based technical solutions, chances are, you have benefited from Navaneedha Jagathesan’s innovation and commitment to excellence. As a Senior Cloud Technical Account Manager, Navaneedha partners with AWS customers to execute next-generation implementations, drive adoption, and maintain the AWS operating environment. Ensuring optimal health levels for cloud technology is crucial, and this responsibility falls under Navaneedha’s integral role in maintaining the infrastructure’s security, privacy, and overall safety.

Navaneedha launched his career in Big Tech over a decade ago at Wipro Technologies, a Fortune India 500 company. Embracing the front-end realm with expertise, he designed and developed Wipro’s dynamic web user interface. The challenge was nothing short of monumental, given the pivotal role that the company’s webpages play in captivating customer engagement. He further provided the novel contribution of custom webpage controls for increased customer experience optimization. While this front-end focused experience was significant, Navaneedha’s role merely scratched the surface of his capabilities and the innovations that he would unleash in his career.

When Navaneedha went on to get a master’s degree at Wichita State in the United States, his career trajectory changed. While he was a research assistant during his graduate studies, Navaneedha began working with a single-node Hadoop cluster to analyze student data, and immediately, he was hooked. Along with courses in big data and an interest in big data technologies, Navaneedha jumped into back-end work and hasn’t looked back.

Now, he works with hundreds of Hadoop clusters and helps customers navigate their own cloud journeys. Navaneedha’s work is relevant, and his support is needed in every business and industry across the globe. The total impact he has had on global business achievement is hard to measure, but there are many project outcomes that show just how effective Navaneedha is as a thought leader and go-getter in the cloud-based solutions space.

To Navaneedha, his biggest career achievement has been two-fold. Perhaps his proudest career moment thus far has been when he optimized the Amazon DynamoDB for customers, saving over $1 million per year. That career achievement is followed closely by Navaneedha’s work to develop a custom application using Amazon CloudWatch that identified underutilized resources across 100+ AWS accounts, highlighting $500,000 in potential savings across a number of AWS services.

To the technical experts that have had the pleasure of working with Navaneedha, his impact and influence are unmatched in the industry. Navaneedha’s enterprise lead and supervisor has worked with him for years, seen his impact first-hand, and isn’t quiet about offering Navaneedha accolades. He stated, “As Naveen’s Enterprise Lead, I have had the pleasure of working with him for several years, and I have witnessed firsthand his exceptional technical expertise and leadership skills that attest to the fact that he is in the top 10% of Technical Managers.”

Finding back-end developers with strong technical capabilities isn’t the challenge, but finding ones that can do the hard work and succeed on a leadership path is notoriously difficult. Navaneedha manages 6 cross-functional teams that contribute to the following disciplines: analytics, security, operational, office hours, billing, and networking. His ability to partner with clients and colleagues alike – in both technical and non-technical settings – is the reason that customer satisfaction has hit a high of 95%.

Committed to elevating himself and those around him, Navaneedha was one of 5 employees in the organization to receive the Learn & Be Curious” Award for completing 7 AWS certifications during a 45-day contest. 500 people participated, but only the most committed received an award, and it was no surprise that Navaneedha was in that group. Navaneedha’s professional impact and personalized approach may have stemmed from working with and understanding front-end requirements. But now, those same characteristics strengthen technical infrastructures and help bring advanced technical capabilities to life.
