The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a murder suspect who escaped custody Wednesday at George Washington University Hospital.

Christopher Haynes, 30, escaped custody at a hospital after he was previously arrested and charged with a homicide offense on Wednesday, according to the police report.

Haynes was last seen at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the 900 block of 23rd Street, Northwest, according to police. He was seen wearing a black T-shirt and grey shorts under a white body suit.

He was described by police as having shoulder-length dreadlocks and was only wearing one shoe. He is 6’0 in height and approximately 205 pounds. Haynes was reportedly not handcuffed. (RELATED: Portland Officials Rescue Escaped Suspect After He Was Found Buried In Mud).

All evening events were canceled at the university, “due to the dangerous individual around campus,” and the school community was advised to be cautious around campus, according to WTOP news.

The FBI Washington Field posted to Twitter offering a $10,000 reward for information on Haynes’ arrest.

Haynes was also arrested back in 2020 for attempting to drive into three Prince William County police officers on bicycles, according to DC News Now.

“Do not engage, call 911 if spotted,” the police posted on Twitter.
