Former Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal said in a recorded statement that Muslims worldwide must rise up and wage “jihad” and sacrifice their “blood and souls” in mass protests on Friday.

“[We must] head to the squares and streets of the Arab and Islamic world on Friday,” Meshaal said, Reuters reported Wednesday.

Meshaal currently heads Hamas’ diaspora office in Qatar, according to the report.

“Tribes of Jordan, sons of Jordan, brothers and sisters of Jordan … This is a moment of truth and the borders are close to you, you all know your responsibility,” Meshaal reportedly said, per Reuters. “To all scholars who teach jihad … to all who teach and learn, this is a moment for the application (of theories).” (RELATED: ‘Do Israeli Lives Not Matter?’: Rashida Tlaib Runs From Reporter Grilling Her About Hamas ‘Chopping Off Babies’ Heads’)

“Funds are important but today we are asking for your blood and souls,” he added.

More than 1,200 Israelis have died and thousands more were wounded after Hamas terrorists launched attacks against Israeli civilians and military installations on Saturday. Hamas terrorists also raped women and kidnapped civilians to be used as hostages in Gaza.

Tomer Peretz, who volunteered in southern Israel to recover bodies, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that there were “bodies cut in half, heads, hands, arms.”

“I can tell you that it was not just dead bodies that got shot. That was like beyond a nightmare,” Peretz said.

Danielle Biton, who survived the attacks, also told the DCNF that when she and her boyfriend returned to their home hours after the attacks, they saw burned bodies, reporting that “some of them were decapitated.”

At least 14 Americans were killed in the attacks, with authorities fearing that Americans are also among the hostages.
