Paramount dropped the official trailer for “Finestkind” on Monday, and it looks like an excellent winter movie.

“Finestkind” follows the story of two brothers, raised in completely different lifestyles, and who reunite over the course of one summer in their commercial fishing village home, according to the trailer description. Things seem to be going great until they find themselves caught up with a violent Boston gang, and things take a turn for the worst.

The film stars a slew of heavy-weight actors, including Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Foster, Toby Wallace and Jenna Ortega. The film was written and directed by Academy Award winner Brian Helgeland, and will be brought to us by the same names behind such hit Paramount+ shows as “1923,” “Tulsa King,” and “Special Ops: Lioness.”

David Glasser of 101 Studios and Taylor Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch have both teamed up with Krasnoff/Foster Entertainment to bring us this flick. And if Sheridan is involved, you know it’s going to be great!

The film’s official premiere is December 15, so I genuinely hope it brings a sense of community back to so many homes across the U.S. So many families and social groups were ripped apart in the last few years over things as trivial as personal ideology. While you might not think a crime drama is the most inspiring holiday film, I have weirdly high hopes for this one.
