Brandi Mallory, a reality television star from “Extreme Weight Loss,” died Nov. 9 at the age of 40, according to People.
A representative for the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Mallory passed away in Stone Mountain, Georgia, People reported Nov. 14. Her cause of death is not public at the time of writing. Mallory appeared in season 4 of the ABC series “Extreme Weight Loss,” which aired in 2014.

Mallory’s family and friends honored her memory in a candlelight vigil held Nov. 12.
An obituary for the star was posted online, and revealed a memorial service will be held for her in Georgia on Nov. 19.
A makeup artist by trade, Mallory opened up about the pain that caused her to enroll on “Extreme Weight Loss.” She shared her story with Atlanta journalist Kirby Carroll in 2018, recalling how she ended up being a part of a reality show.
Mallory said the death of one of her sorority sisters at the age of 29 prompted her to reassess her own health and try to lose weight.
“I was literally waking up every day like … this may be my last day waking up, like, I don’t know what’s going to happen for me,” she said. “When it’s playing on your mind that I might need to do something about my weight, because I’m afraid I might die too, then you might need to pay attention to something like that.”
Fellow “Extreme Weight Loss” contestant, Kim Williams Maxile, paid tribute to Mallory by posting a video and touching message to Instagram on Nov. 9.
