Illinois Republican Rep. Mary Miller introduced three pieces of pro-life legislation Wednesday.

The Daily Caller first obtained copies of the bills. The first piece of legislation is titled the Woman’s Right to Know Act. The bill would require abortion providers to inform a woman seeking an abortion of the possible medical risks that could result from having an abortion. It would also require an ultrasound to be performed and implement a 24-hour waiting period before an abortion.

The second piece of legislation is titled the Pregnancy Is Not An Illness Act. This bill would prohibit the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) from declaring pregnancy to be a life-threatening illness for the purpose of approving abortion drugs. The third bill is titled the Love Them Both Act. The legislation would prohibit the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from using the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act to cover abortions or abortion services.

“Life is the most precious gift we have. Without it, we have nothing. If we don’t protect the right to life, all our other rights are in danger of being taken away. We can’t call ourselves a nation of liberty and justice for all when we deprive this sacred right from the most vulnerable among us. We are in the midst of the most joyful time of the year — Christmas. Although this season is full of parties, concerts, and spending time with friends and family, that is not why we celebrate,” Miller said in a statement.

“We celebrate Christmas because of God’s greatest gift to mankind — Jesus; for without Him, there would be no Christmas. What better time to protect the cause of life than this special season?” Miller added. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: 48 Senate Republicans Tell Schumer They Will Block Any Bill Undermining Hyde Amendment)
