Iowa Republican Sen. Joni Ernst on Wednesday will start exposing the 12 worst agency offenders wasting taxpayer dollars leading up to Christmas.

The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of Ernst’s video, where she explains that for the next 12 days she will be releasing a “Christmas card” on social media calling out President Joe Biden’s bureaucrats back to their offices. She says if they don’t return to in-person work, the unused space should be sold.

Ernst has been cracking down on government agencies that are occupying even half their office space, and has called on agencies to have their employees show back up to work in person. In August, Ernst demanded investigations into 24 federal departments and agencies see what the impact of telework has been.

At the beginning of December, Ernst released a naughty list of the no-show federal agencies. Ernst found that both the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Social Security Administration are using just 7% of their space which is being paid for by taxpayers.

“It is 12 days until Christmas. For the next 12 days, I will be highlighting the 12 agencies that have the most unused office space here in Washington, DC. If President Biden won’t bring his bureaucrats back and fill these offices and work for our hardworking taxpayers, then we should do the right thing and sell off the unused office space,” Ernst said in the video. “We’re spending about 2.5 million dollars every single day for the upkeep, maintenance, and paying for these unused office spaces. Folks, let’s do something about it. Join me for the next 12 days – 12 Days of Christmas,” Ernst continued. (RELATED: Senate Passes Joni Ernst Amendment Cracking Down On Federal Employees Abusing Telework)

The first agency she will call out will be NASA.
