A pro-Palestinian protester berated Republican Florida Rep. Brian Mast after he called the United Nations (UN) “moronic” Tuesday for creating the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

Several countries, including the United States, announced they will temporarily suspend funding to UNRWA following allegations staff may have participated in the Oct. 7 attack on Israel. Video posted on social media shows the woman shouting at Mast, apparently due to his stance on funding for UNRWA.

“The United Nations was moronic for creating UNRWA, which has been an abysmal failure,” Mast told the protesters. “It goes out there and parrots the lies of the Palestinian health agency, like the Al-Ahli hospital bombing, saying that it was an Israel bombing.”

“You are heartless,” the woman said. “You realize how heartless you are? These children are being slaughtered, and now you wanna take away the last bit of food and water and supplies, any medicine. You want to take away the last bit they have? That’s what you want?”

Mast told the protester that as a private citizen, she could donate her own money to UNRWA. The woman replied she was a taxpayer and her taxes should fund the agency. (RELATED: Doctor Presses Kirby On Who Is Being Vetted After UN Agency Fires Staff For Alleged Hamas Attack Participation)

“I pay taxes,” the protester shouted. “My taxes should go to UNRWA. Not to a war that’s killing innocent people in Gaza. That’s not what my tax money is for.”

The woman called Mast a “liar” and said he was “full of shit” after the congressman told her he would “make sure” her tax dollars wouldn’t go toward UNWRA.

Roughly 10% of UNRWA’s total staff have links to Islamic terrorist organizations, according to U.S. intelligence reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. Hamas’ Oct. 7 attacks against Israel resulted in around 1,200 dead civilians and hundreds of Israeli hostages.
