A slap in the face to Christians.

There is no other way people of faith can interpret the decision by President Joe Biden to make a special proclamation identifying Easter Sunday, the most sacred day of the year for Christians, as “Transgender Day of Visibility.”

We thought June was the month where the LGBT community demands everyone recognize and celebrate their lifestyle. Americans are forced to endure every company changing their logos and store displays with rainbows everywhere you look. LGBT clothing is placed up front and in your face at the local Walmart, Target or other department stores

Now, the “T” in the alphabet mafia requires another day for recognition, and in 2024, it just happened to coincide with the holiest day of the year to celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. It is the doctrine on which the entire Christian faith is built that Christ resurrected, trampling over sin and death. It is the day of salvation and hope that has been celebrated for more than 2000 years.

“Transgender Day of Visibility” was started in 2009. Biden was the first president to ever recognize this day and made his first proclamation in 2021. His obsession with satisfying the radical groups in the Democrat party will only accelerate as the November elections draw near.

The President’s decision to make this proclamation on such a sacred day is symbolic of what he thinks of Christians in this country. Although he claims to be a devout Catholic and uses his religion to claim he understands the faith community, nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, the Biden Administration has identified Christian parents who are concerned about their children’s exposure to sexually graphic material as “extremists” and uses the term “Christian nationalist” to describe its political enemies. Even Biden’s proclamation takes a swipe at Christians who don’t go along with the gender agenda:

“The Department of Justice has taken action to push back against extreme and un-American State laws targeting transgender youth and their families and the Department of Justice is partnering with law enforcement and community groups to combat hate and violence.”

So, the God-fearing Christians who believe the Bible and do not comply with the idea that a man can become a woman and vice versa can expect a visit from the FBI.

Those who believe in scripture understand that each one of us was fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of a Creator who gave us all inherent dignity and beauty as a human person. The lie that the transgender movement conveys is that you were created in the wrong body, that your life is meaningless and that God made a mistake when He made you.

Christians don’t believe God made a mistake, and it is not hateful, but loving to point out that gender ideology is destructive. We oppose the notion that denies the biological and scientific reality of male and female and advances a damaging myth especially to young children.

America, a nation that was founded upon Judeo-Christian principles for the purpose of religious freedom, is continuing to stray so far from its foundations! And this Administration is leading the way.

Psalm 11:3 asks an age-old question …“When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

In 2022, Concerned Women for America declared the month of April to be “Faith Month.” It has become apparent that it’s now more important than ever for Christians to stand together in solidarity for our deeply held beliefs.

If gay, lesbian, transgender and all the others in their group can have an entire month to tout their beliefs, so should the billions of Christians around the world. During the month of June, the LGBT flag is flown on government and civic buildings and even American embassies and military bases.

This year, during the month of April, Christians, Jews and those of other religious traditions should make their voices heard in the public square. We can also take other steps, including:

  • Praying without ceasing for our nation. This includes praying for those in leadership who seem to be enemies of the cross. Ephesians 6:12 tells us that “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
  • Standing together, shoulder-to-shoulder, with those of like-minded precious faith. As Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, “Two are better than one”
  • Rising up as the people of God and boldly proclaiming our faith. For Christians, it is allegiance to Jesus Christ and His Gospel of salvation, not succumbing to fear and intimidation.
  • Displaying the Christian flag during “Faith Month.”

Christian flags displayed this year all across our nation — in every city and state, on homes, office buildings, churches, cars or anywhere – would be a powerful counterbalance to the Biden Administration’s slap in the face.
