PepsiCo has recalled yet another soda over mislabeling a week after having to recall a different drink, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced Wednesday.

The brand is recalling just over 2,800 cases of their Mug Root Beer after it was reported that the cans contain the zero sugar version of the drink, according to the FDA. The recall includes 12-pack cases of the soda sold in the states of Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Mississippi, Arkansas and Oklahoma.

The items being recalled have a best-by date of July 22, 2024, and the code JUL2224XXXXAS02234 is labeled on the packaging, the FDA noted. The recall initially began back in March but the FDA announced the investigation Wednesday.

The FDA previously announced that PepsiCo issued a recall on their Schweppes Zero Sugar Ginger Ale. About 233 cases were being recalled for containing the wrong product, the FDA noted. (RELATED: FDA Recalls 2,000 Cases Of Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil).

“During an internal investigation the firm discovered that product labeled as Zero Sugar contains full sugar product,” the FDA said.

The sugar in the drinks can be dangerous for those who purposefully avoid sugar, such as people with diabetes, the New York Post noted.

The cans affected in this recall were shipped to Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Maryland, according to the FDA. The products are labeled with the code “May 20 24 MAY20240520VS02164 – MAY20240550VS02164.”

The Ginger Ale recall was initiated by PepsiCo on March 9 and is considered “ongoing,” according to the FDA.

It’s unclear whether the drinks with sugar made it onto store shelves or into consumers’ homes, the Post noted.
