David King has 22 years of active and seven years of reserve Army service with 20 of that in Special Forces enlisted and officer assignments. Post Army jobs include integration SME at the Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance – Task Force and with the USAF Irregular Warfare office. Currently posted as Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 447 in Rockville, MD.<br /> <br /> He has a BA in Government and Politics, University of Maryland 1988, Student Legislator for 2 years. Completed academic requirements for an MS in Strategic Intelligence at the National Defense Intelligence College (formally Joint Military Intelligence College) 2004.<br /> <br /> Enlisted in Army Special Forces August 1979 to May 1988. Graduated the Special Forces Qualification Course 10 of 62 as the youngest graduate ever. As an enlisted soldier served as a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant and later an Intelligence Sergeant on A-Teams, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. Commissioned a second lieutenant in Infantry Branch through Johns Hopkins in May 1988. Prior to completing college served as Platoon Leader in 97th ARCOM for one of the last Pathfinder Platoons. Officer assignments include Bradley platoon leader and company executive officer in Germany and Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm; basic combat training company executive officer at Fort Jackson, SC; command of a Special Forces A-Team specializing in Military Free Fall, Battalion Adjutant in 7th Group and SouthCOM operations officer in Special Forces Command at Fort Bragg, NC; special projects officer in G8 and later as ISR officer at G2 on the Army Staff; ended uniform service as a strategic intelligence officer on the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.
